Jan Zimmermann

Jan Zimmermann was one of the important builders of modern European footbag. He co-organized the landmark 1999 European Footbag Open in Berlin, helped found Planetfootbag, and was part of the German scene that pushed the sport forward at a crucial time. He later moved to Switzerland and was a major force in starting the Swiss scene, including the Sole Rebels Zürich club and the FootJam tournament. Zimmermann was also a strong competitor, winning German titles and a European doubles freestyle title with Ole Schnack, but his lasting mark was as an organizer, entrepreneur, and scene-builder.
