Maude Landreville

Maude Landreville inherited the practice of footbag from her uncle, Denis Landreville, a multiple times triathlon champion, and his ex-wife, Francine Beaudry, a Guinness world record holder.

When Maude was consecutive kicking, she made 11 kicks in 2 seconds with Chany Langlois, and then 20 kicks with Mathilde Colas in that same timeframe. At the age of 16, she chose to go the footbag net route over freestyle footbag, with her first tournament being the Hivernal, at the Cégep du Vieux. Her net partner was Stéphane Tailleur.

Maude developed a reputation in her footbag group for being a strong setter on the net court. After competing in Chicago at the 1999 World Footbag Championships, she played at Kit's beach in Vancouver, BC where she made connections with Andy Ronald and the Vancouver footbag club at the Sunset Grill, a popular location for locals and visitors.

She later traveled to San Francisco for the World Footbag Championships with Katia Couture to compete.

Maude has said she always enjoyed playing against Geneviève Bousquet and Marilyn Demuy, her fellow top players at the time. She also appreciated playing Yves Archambault and Manu Bouchard, who she felt really challenged her footbag game.

Maude Landreville accomplished a great deal in footbag net and won many tournaments over her long years in the sport. For this, she was inducted into the Footbag Hall of Fame, and continues to play to this day!
