Rick Kaufman

Rick Kaufman was one of the main pioneers of organized footbag on the East Coast. A charter member of the first certified NHSA instructor training camp in 1981, he founded the East Coast Hacky Sack Association under the NHSA and later the WFA, helping create a durable structure for the game in that region. He was recognized with the Mike Marshall Award in 1986, a fitting honor for someone whose main legacy was promotion, teaching, and institution-building.
