Brenda Solonoski

Brenda Solonoski was one of the central builders of East Coast footbag. She began organized play in 1984, became a WFA certified instructor, and, together with Joe Solonoski, launched the Funtastic Summer Classic in 1985. That event became one of the longest-running and most influential tournaments in the country, and Brenda’s enthusiasm, sponsorship, promotion, and hosting helped make East Coast footbag both durable and welcoming. She was one of the people who built community not only by competing, but by creating the kind of event culture that players wanted to return to year after year.
