Brent Welch

Brent Welch was an outstanding net player and one of the strongest all-around competitors of his generation. He is now a regular with the Footbag Lovers of Portland (FLOP), a fun-loving crew of old-school kickers. Brent’s Hall of Fame account traces a long rise through net and freestyle, from early play in California and Boulder to the strong Berkeley scene that included Bill Langbehn, Etienne Constable, Jody Badger, and others. He and Bill Langbehn set the one-pass world record at 10,454 kicks, and Brent and Jody Welch won the Mixed Doubles Net world title seven times while reaching the finals eleven times. He was also a very good club juggler and a key organizer, helping direct tournaments and support major Bay Area footbag events.
